
Florida Emancipation Day 2024 Weekend Celebration
Where: Historic Hopper Academy | 1101 S, Pine Ave, Sanford, FL 32771

The event will include a reading/reenactment of the emancipation proclamation, presentations by the Sanford Museum and the UCF RICHES Program, performances by local gospel choirs, presentation of an art history competition with local elementary schools
The Georgetown Steering Team will also host an art history scholarship contest. Results of contest the be announced during the celebration.

Details:
Established by the Georgetown Steering Team, this contest aims for students to submit an original art project (drawing, watercolor or acrylic painting, photography) reflecting the history of life in Georgetown, Flor how the Emancipation Proclamation affected life in Florida.
